Description
The American Gold Buffalo coin was first issued in 2006 by the United States Mint. The obverse side of the coin features a striking effigy of a Native American warrior chieftain in profile, a design featured on the original 1913 Buffalo Nickel, along with the year of issue and inscription “LIBERTY”. The reverse features an adaptation from the reverse of the 1913 Nickel rendering an American Buffalo’s timeless image along with the USA legend, the national motto, the weight, purity, and denominational value.
