The coin commonly features a maple leaf and consists of 1 troy ounce (31.1 g) of Platinum and has been minted by the Royal Canadian Mint (RCM).

Founded in 1908 with locations in Ottawa and Winnipeg, the Royal Canadian Mint was part of the British Royal Mint. In 1931, it was handed over entirely to Canadians, and remains a producer of high-quality Canadian legal tender, foreign coins, and collector items. In 1982, the Royal Canadian Mint became the world’s first refinery to produce .9999 fine silver bullion coins. RCM has good delivery bar status with the LBMA (London Bullion Market Association) and Comex.
